Owner and instructor Jenny Hansell has been teaching dance to area youth for over twenty years. She started Happy Feet Dance Company, LLC in 2003 after several years of teaching independently and with various other performing arts companies. As prices continued to rise, she saw more and more kids lose out on the opportunity to take professional dance lessons. With that and her love of dance in mind, she started Happy Feet. She brings a lifetime of experience to her classes, as student, teacher and coach. She grew up dancing at a local studio and then went on to high school dance team. In college she was a member of University of Minnesota Dance Team, where she graduated in 2001. She now lives in Blaine with her three daughters and husband of 11 years. When she isn’t teaching, she enjoys watching her own daughters dance competitively, traveling and scrapbooking with friends.
Lead instructor and manager Wendy Pettijohn joined Happy Feet in 2008. With a background in both gymnastics and dance, she brings a unique skill set to her classes. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Wendy was an all-American gymnast and danced all through college with various performing arts groups. Wendy was also a dancer for the acclaimed Minnesota Viking Cheerleaders. Wendy still dances today with a women’s performing group. She lives in Blaine with her husband and four children. When she isn’t cheering on her sons in hockey or her daughter in competitive dance, she likes to read, do yoga and spend time with family and friends.
Miss Missy joined Happy Feet in 2006. She grew up dancing at a local studio and went on to dance on her high school dance team. She has participated in several special dance opportunities, including dancing in the half time of Super Bowl XXVI. She is a proud graduate of the University of Minnesota - Duluth. She is known and loved by students and parents alike for her patience and skills in working with dancers with special needs. Missy lives in Andover with her husband and three children. When she's not teaching, you can find her cheering her sons on in hockey or her daughter in soccer and she loves to spend time at her cabin with family and friends.
